Cranmore 1st v Lydford
On losing the toss Cranmore were asked to bowl and quickly gained 2 wickets with only 6 on the board from Steve Allen (2-24) and with Andy Trott (0-34) also bowling well but a partnership of 52 runs in 8 overs changed the game back to Lydford until Alex Vaughan (2-62) broke the partnership from an excellent catch by Matt Dury with boundaries coming along at a rapid rate and with the 100 up in the 22 over a big score looked on the cards until Vaughan gained a wicket with a straight ball, but with Allen finishing an excellent spell, Dave Monk (4-19) joined the party and gained instant success with 2 wickets in 2 balls and a quick partnership of 40 occurred before Monk struck again and with Paul Trott (2-9) gaining 2 wickets Lydford finished on 173 all out
The Reply Started well with Phil Veale (8) hitting 2 boundaries before being bowled Monk (59) was joined by Dury (8) and these two put on 44 runs before Dury was caught but from 58 for 1 this become 58 for 4 after 12 overs Darren Butt (41) then joined Monk and put on 66 runs in 15 overs to take the score to 112 when Monk was bowled by a Yorker, Andy Godden (21) quickly got into his stride hitting 3 sixes until he was caught at 142 for 6 the game evenly balanced but Andy Trott (14) showed what all rounder he is with some sparkling drives and with the help of Butt took the score to 172 when Trott and Butt were dismissed in successive balls and with a nervous Cranmore looking on Andrew Baker (2 no) struck the winning runs for the second successive week to give Cranmore a victory by 2 wickets
