Spaxton v Cranmore 1st
After winning the toss Cranmore asked Spaxton to bat and they got off to great start putting on 67 for 1st wicket in 12 overs against a bowling attack of Steve Allen (1-38) and Matt Garner (1-51) who were both unlucky not to get an early wicket, Neil Stevenson (2-28) then replaced Garner and gained success in his 1st over and this was followed by 2 more wickets with the score 69 from Stevenson and Allen, a partnership of 30 occurred until Nick Pang (5-41) broke through the partnerhip and wickets continued to fall and from 99 for 3 Spaxton were reduced to 139 for 9 after 39 overs but in the space of 6 overs the boundaries were being found with regularity and not being helped by some poor fielding but in the 45th over Ian Cox caught his 3rd catch from a Pang delivery to end Spaxton Innings on 175
In reply Ian Cox (35) and Nick Pang (10) opened the innings and put on 28 for the 1st wicket until Pang was out, Sam Laing (15) joined Cox and took the score to 52 until Laing was caught a Partnership of 25 occurred between Cox and Allen (10) but this changed the game dramatically with both being out in the space of 10 runs with score on 92 for 4 after 25 overs the game was evenly balanced with 2 batsman in Matt Dury (9) and Dave Monk (21) in they took the score to 117 until Dury was caught Darren Butt (31 no) joined Monk and these two looked like they were going to win the game until Monk was caught with 15 still needed and with 5 overs remaining and Stevenson (4) was given out and it was left to Butt and Andrew Baker (4 no) to get 3 off the last over which Butt Duly did with 2 balls remaining and to give Cranmore a victory by 3 wickets
