Cranmore v Taunton st Andrews
After winning the toss Cranmore’s Captain Steve Allen asked Taunton to bat and quickly found wickets from Andy Trott (1-39) and Harry Keevill (1-69) and after 6 overs Taunton were 14 for 2 and this could have been 3 or 4 but with dropped catches and near misses Tauntons 3rd wicket put on 89 for the 3rd wicket in 15 overs until Nick Pang (1-47) broke through and with Allen (3-47) contributing 2 wickets Taunton were now 125 for 6 after 30 overs but again Cranmore dropped catches and fielded poorly allowing Taunton’s batman to amass the runs at will and scored 93 runs in 15 overs with only Dave Monk (1-1) one wicket to show for and Taunton finished on 218 for 8 after 45 overs
In reply against a big total Cranmore started badly losing 2 quick wickets for only 15 runs in 7 overs only Nick Pang (39) looked comfortable with some attacking shots and put on partnerships of 15 and 18 with Monk (7) and Allen (7) but with Pang being dismissed Cranmore lost 4 more wickets and with the score on 70 for 7 after 24 overs the end looked near until Andy Trott (25) and Keevil (45) had other ideas putting on 84 runs in 16 overs but as soon as these 2 were out the game was over with the last wicket going down in 41st over with the score on 159 and a defeat for Cranmore by 59 runs
